The full moon in May saw Slim howlin' at the back door lookin' to dust the "cobbies" off the old Gretsch to make a racket. Eighteen months long service leave from "Slap N The Cats" too was enough, and found Billy also desperate to stand, hit n scream! Together they found the "rocket in the pocket and a roll in the jeans" ready to launch back into rockabilly space. With Slappa flat chat slappin all over the place, tearin up the stage with the Rockin' Daddies and The Atomic Hitones another big fiddle fella was sought. (A very rare beast in the 'Bool.') But there sitting by the telephone, his eyes super-glued to a computer screen and fingers welded to a soldering iron was Tim "Thummpa" Conlan. Barely able to speak, he was over-taking prescribed medication to help himself cope with a cronic Zydeco, Blues and Irish induced infection. Slim and Billy visited regularly to check on his prognosis only to discover, that unbeknown to him, his wardrobe was in fact a double bass with hanging space. In no time at all it was emptied, P.V.A'd back together and strung up. With the wardrobe wired and his fingers retreaded, it was discovered "Thummpa" could slap! An intensive de-tox program utilising top quality Johnny Burnett, Eddy Cochrane, Stray Cats, Gene Vincent, Go Cat Go, The Blasters, The King and Ricky Nelson brand antibiotics (plus a little Gaffa Tape) rendered him CURED! A Miracle! Another Rockabilly story of salvation! The final step... to gig! The fuse was lit, the stick stuck in the milk bottle and THE SKY ROCKATS took off! What a blast !! A new pyrotechnic explosion has come out of "The Bool" and is in the hittin the stratosphere! With a pay load of of great rockabilly hits, swing and jump blues they are really OUT THERE.
